This exciting presentation will review David Thompson's exploratory adventures over both of these iconic passes. They were critical links for the fur trade in what is now western Canada. A review of current conditions and plans for the future are also included.
The Howse Pass Trail through the river valley is very beautiful and wild with long open views. Hiking it is like viewing a moving postcard.
The iconic Athabasca Pass trail is fully restored and cleared, except the Simon Creek Bridge.
