We left the Lake Louise parking lot at ten under partly cloudy skies and headed up the Tramline on well a groomed trail for the upper Lake Louise lot where we then connected with Fairview.

Crossing Moraine Lake road on Tramline

Fairview had not been groomed, although a lot of work had been done to fill creek beds, hollows and barespots. Coverage was good, but with a mix of skidoo tracks and skier tracks skiing was challenging is places! We paused for a rest in sunny meadows about halfway along.

Pause for snack on Fairview trail

After joining the Moraine Lake road we headed uphill so that we could enjoy a ski back down a long, well groomed run. Nothing to it after surviving Fairview.

Six of us elected to return to the cars a bit sooner while the rest continued on for a little longer. My stats were 18.2 km with 365 elevation gain.

Thanks to all for making it an enjoyable outing.
