What a great day to be alive and in the mountains. Our group started at the trailhead ab 9:15 to 6 deg C and a bit of a breeze. We quickly made Baldy Pass, though the trail was a hard-packed and icy in sections and then the real work began. Thanks to some real machines who broke trail, we made it through trees until the last 150 m or so and then it was slow, snow and rocks underfoot. Still, we were able to enjoy the sunshine for a 12:30 lunch. It didn't last quickly, as the wind had a good chill to it. We were back to the cars at 3:30, all smiles.
