What a gorgeous day for a hike. When we left the cars at 9.00am it was about +10c, but on return at 2.45pm a blistering +26c. In between we enjoyed a good hike up Horton Hill and along to the high point of Horton Ridge, a round trip distance of 8km with about 600m of elevation gain. There was no wind and negligible snow so our micro-spikes went unused. Fortunately most of the "trail' was in the shade or we would have fried.
Conversation went everywhere but we stuck together on the rough trail helped by pink ribbons and various GPS's. Mine was loaded with a track from alltrails.com which I knew to be reliable and it was. There were a few occasions when this proved very useful, especially after the first summit with cairn, register and other goodies.
Thanks to all the participants: Philip, Jim, Shirley, Margo, Inge, David, Sonja, Barbara from C&S David for making this such a relaxed and enjoyable trip.
