Wow.. what a fun, wet day for 15 Rumblers.  The wettest most of us have been without rain while skiing!  It's hard to believe other Ramblers were basking in sun & shorts!
The group provided insightful commentary & humour as we went through a wide range of avalanche situations & issues.

The initial path down from road to creek was littered with deadfall from fall windstorms. We made our way up through meadows, up through the upper creeks to a high point at 2220m.  From this point we had good views of the surrounding slopes.  We could see many natural slides triggered by the warm weather earlier in the week.  The popular skiing slopes on the south end bowl had slide activity too.  We only saw one other party from our fairly isolated spot.   So we began our conversation about group protocol, conditions, route finding.  With the wet snow & wind & marginal skiing conditions we retreated back down to meadows lower down.

Back at the meadows we didn’t really stop for a lunch.  While people snacked & discussed, beacons were set out, snow piles created, targets were set.  We went through beacon searches, team digging, probe search, and a group scenario.  It was great how everybody worked together and provided insight to the situation at hand.  Near 2pm with wet snow falling hard we headed back to the cars.  On the way we noticed a remnant of a moose kill.  Thankfully not too gruesome, nor fresh.
