A mostly cloudy day, but also windless which was lovely. There was lots of snow (around 25 cm) but it wasn't too difficult to walk through. It was another extremely satisfying day with a great group!
It was lovely to run into Pati, Neil, and Heather, both at the trailhead and again just below Ware (they were doing the loop in the opposite direction). And special thanks to Alisen and partner for breaking trail ahead of us! One of these days we will hopefully meet in person, not just wave at each other from the top and bottom of a mountain.
The group insisted (more than once) that this trip was actually a scramble because of the route that we took to Ware's summit. Definitely the snow makes it quite challenging.
Of note were all of the interesting things that we saw from the car: more than 2 dozen bighorn rams in the morning, a coyote, an 8-foot-tall skeleton with a pumpkin head all lit up in the morning, many swans and ducks, dozens more sheep (including ewes and lambs) in the late afternoon, and 3 wild turkeys roaming the streets of Turner Valley. And a donkey!
