Unsure of how many Ramblers would be interested in this classic paddle, I also posted it on the Bow Waters Canoe Club trip calendar. I need not have worried! Very quickly I had a small fleet consisting of 5 tandem canoes, 4 solo canoes and 11 kayaks with equal numbers of Ramblers and BWCC members. We met at 9 am at McKinnon Flats and after setting up shuttle vehicles at Carseland, headed off down the river at around 11 am. The valley mist quickly cleared to reveal fall colours at their best under a clear blue sky. To make things a little less crowded on the river, we split the group into two by delaying the launch of the second half by 10 minutes. All went smoothly with no swims, arriving at Carseland at about 3 pm, and an amazing 21C. The total distance traveled was 22.4 km with an average paddling speed of 7.3 km/hr, Thanks to Norman, Stan, Gerald, Sarah, David, Clifton, Jill, Joanne, Gordon, Jenny, Steve and Mechtild for joining me for an excellent day John c/s
