Hi All
It was a great day on the Pocaterra Ridge traverse (take 2). The Larch were Prime, the vistas were Primer and the Company was Prime-est.
From a pure technical point of view the recent snow made the traction devices necessary on some of the North Slopes (generally descents) particularly above 2200m. In some places the snow was of an awkward depth of being too shallow to pack out a step but still deep enough to be slippery. On one or two occasions we would have liked to have an ice axe to cut a few steps. It was enough to slow us down occasionally but not to seriously detract from the day. More Southerly slopes were generally clear. Some ranges mostly to the west appeared to have more snow than we did.
Other than that, I’ll let the pictures to the talking.
