Old Baldy Knob via SW ridge Off-Trail hike on 3-Aug-2026

Sometimes plan B ends up being the better one! Having moved this trip from the day prior due to lingering wildfire smoke, and downgraded from the mountain to the ridge, I ended up having far more interest and was happy to see many Rambler friends I hadn't caught up with yet this year. As an added bonus, the temperature was cooler than days prior, and the smoke filled skies cleared allowing us to take our time and enjoy the company and the views. Thanks to Margo, Bruce, Sonja, Teresa, Cristina, John, Christine, Jenny and Jan for joining me on this enjoyable meander, and to Teresa and Jan Paul for sharing their photos.
