Mt Allan from Ribbon Creek Trail hike on 26-Jun-2026

We had a fantastic day! Great company, a satisfying workout with almost no other people on the trail, nice cool temperatures, and no rain... although it was snowing during lunch on the summit. 8 hours including breaks.

The flowers were beautiful: lower meadows were stuffed with forgetmenot, scorpion weed, jacob's ladder, chickweed, and townsendia (among many other flowers, of course), and the alpine with cinquefoil, locoweed, androsace, and particularly impressive kittentails. It was interesting to see everything from the typically earliest flowers (prairie crocus, spring beauty, purple saxifrage) to summer blooms like valerian.

Participants: Ulrike, Donna, Ingrid (coordinator), Deborah, Kar
