Bull Creek Hills 732888 loop via Marston Creek Off-Trail hike on 16-J

We met at the trailhead at around 9;30 AM, and after unloading people, moved shuttle vehicles to the Sentinel recreation site near the Grass Pass trailhead for the end of our hike. Under a mix of sun and cloud we headed up the trail at about 10AM. The vegetation seemed more lush than usual as result of the recent rainy spell, and there was an abundance of alpine flowers in all directions. For most of its length, the trail was in excellent condition and well defined. The weather forecast was calling for severe thunderstorms in the late afternoon which we could see in the distance. but thankfully we managed to complete the hike without getting wet. Total distance ws 11.7 km with a cum elevation gain of 916m. Thanks to: Bill, Aldis, Jeannette, Joanne, Steve, Jo, Kate, Monica, Pat, guest Brandur for coming out to join me, and thanks Bill and Steve for some great photos. c/s John
