We didn't know if the recent heavy snow would allow us to reach the summit, and that was fine with everyone because we were just happy to be out after 3 days of miserable weather. The snow started not far above Baldy Pass and was fine until we got to the last section leading up to the summit. The usual hiker route was deep and unsafe due to avalanche risk (there were lots of fresh heavy wet avalanche paths on Midnight and Baldy), and the ridge route was SC6 due to the snow and didn't feel right to do with our group of 7. We were satisfied with what we achieved and enjoyed a warm, no-wind lunch on one of the ridge high points.
