Gunnery Ck to Fir Ck via Grass Pass Off-Trail hike on 21-May-2026

A fine day with a great crew on this easy yet very scenic and rewarding loop taking in 2 passes and 3 valleys, connecting along open ridges.

The trails were mostly dry, with only one small patch of snow to cross after lunch on our descent to Grass Pass.

Rather than endure 2.5 km of roadside walking to close the loop between Gunnery and Fir creeks, a shuttle was set-up as usual. Thanks drivers, and everyone else for the good company on my first real hike of the season.
