I had never skied these trails, so with the fresh grooming and reports of excellent conditions, it was time to check them out. We had a fantastic day with mostly perfect snow and tracks except in two sections of thicker forest where there was debris and glazing (we all chose to fall at least once on the tricky little hills which were borderline hazardous). The rest of our 32-km day was glorious striding and gliding, with lunch at some of the red chairs at Baker Creek. There were unfortunately not many views due to low cloud, but we all agreed that the great skiing conditions were worth more than sunshine and vistas.
