Calgary Zoo walk Trail hike on 1-Jan-2026

A cold fog and the odd light snow made for a chilly day, but there are always tropical indoor enclosures to go into. Most of the favourites were on view, when the male Amur tiger reared up on its hind legs with a growl it made you happy for the sturdy fence. The lions were not as active, happy to be snoozing on their heated rocks. GPS indicated distance of 6.1 km, egain 118 metres. A few of the feathered residents appended.

Participants: Ron, Barbara, Brian, Carmie, Ginger, Barb, Jo, Keith
