An administrative mistake by me left Gord & I driving out to Arethusa on our own. Thankfully we found Vi (& a pal) skiing there, so we became a Rambler trip =:)
There was a cold breeze coming down the highway, however very nice once we got in the trees. It remained calm, warm'ish, and very pleasant all day. We did 4 laps finding very good powder to the lookers right of the main gulley. The main gulley was skied out/chunky. We don't have any good pictures, Vi & Gord were always racing ahead trying to poach the powder. We all had a good time, good skiing, and were glad to have a nice easy start to ski season.
We were skinning up at 9.30, lunch at 1, back at car for 2, home for dinner at 5. What a great way to start ski season.
Participants: Gerald (C/S), Gordon, Vi
There were very few people at Arethusa today (less than a dozen on skis & snow shoes). Highwood Pass was busy, but likely not packed - we were glad to be there Saturday vs Sunday
