We had a lovely, relaxing hike in the foothills. There was light rain on our drive until just west of Turner Valley, but none on our hike. It was a chinook day - clouds overhead and varied temperatures from 2 to 14 degrees, and back to 8 on our return to the parking. There was a light wind, which was quite warm at some places and at our lunch spot.
The trail was mostly bare and dry, with frozen ground, but there were a few stretches with a bit of snow or ice, but not enough to warrant icers.
We did an out-and-back along Gorge Creek trail, turning around where the trail deteriorated to very 'hoofy' at the 7km point, just past the trail to Mt. Ware. We had a few creek crossings, but all were able to cross maintaining dry feet on rocks or a sturdy log.
