Mt Kidd Lookout plus golden eagle/raptor migration viewing Trail hik

This short (STEEP!) hike was a good choice for a windy shoulder-season day, with interesting views because they're from a different vantage point than other hikes in the area. We found a reasonably sheltered spot for lunch at the far end of the ridge close to Mt Kidd's towering cliffs. After descending, we relocated the cars so that we could walk to the eagle migration site. Alas, the observers told us that it was a slow day with only 1 eagle spotted so far (compared with daily counts of 35 and 75 in the past few days, and 223 (!) a week ago). But it was still useful learning about where and how high the eagles typically fly so that we can look for them in the spring. Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable short day out.
