Arnica Lake Summit Trail hike on 26-Sep-2025

We arrived at the already overflowing parking lot shortly after 9, pondered parking options, booted up and set off around 9:20. It was fairly cool but bright and sunny. Our first view of larches was about half way up to Arnica Lake.

About the same level there were grand views across the valley.

We paused for a rest at Arnica Lake before heading up to the Ridge for our lunch break. We were surrounded by larch in bright and fading golden colours.

It clouded over and the wind picked up during lunch so we set off after around 45 minutes.

Thanks to all for their company.

Note: My trip statistics of 11.75km and 990m vertical (cumulative) confirm that as the years go by the mountains are growing taller! I had about 850m when I briefly researched the trip.
