Piggy Plus - Burstall col Off-Trail hike on 20-Sep-2025

We came to see the larches and weren't disappointed. Not yet at their peak but yellow enough to satisfy our esthetic needs. Arriving at the col before lunch time we decided to hike up the south ridge of mount Burstall ,some to the second bump ,some to the third. Of course the higher you go the better the views. Afterwards we did the customary extension to the nice larch forest and the knoll with decent views of the Robertson glacier. Back at the cars at 4pm. Traffic specially on hwy. 40 was heavy and slow moving .
