Grizzly Ridge/Peak (Highwood Pass area) Off-Trail hike on 17-Aug-2025

It was a great day to hike the Highwood Pass area - sunny skies and perfect hiking temperature. It was a pleasant hike to the meadows and up into Pocaterra Cirque.

We regrouped at Gizzly Col and headed up to Grizzly Ridge.

Once at the high point, we settled in for a long lunch and enjoyed the 360 degree panorama.

Even though it was a Sunday we saw very few people during the trip and had the col and ridge to ourselves. We retraced our steps back along the ridge and back to the col.

After a brief stop in the cirque, we completed our hike back to the parking lot. Thanks to Susan, Jeannette, Janice, Nardi, Teresa, Ulrike, Barbara, John, Jo, Gary, Cheryl for their great company and humour and for joining me Kevin (C/S) on a very enjoyable day hiking in K Country.
