Little Lougheed Off-Trail hike on 17-Aug-2025

We had a lovely day.
In a repeat of my attendance last Sunday on nearby Rimwall we had five ladies and five gentlemen.
At the trailhead there were already quite a number of cars so we expected a busy trail/summit. But a number of those folk must have been going up Spencer Creek as there only seemed to be maybe 6-8 people ahead of us on Little Lougheed. There were many more "behind" us.
We set off a few minutes after 10 and took care to follow the now well-travelled OpenSource/Gaia/All Trails route rather than the Bob Spirko track.

The group stayed reasonably close together all the way up (and down) at what I think of as "Moderate Rambler" pace.

We did regroup and have a break at the nice viewpoint about halfway up (and down). As always the final 100m of ascent is full OT5 terrain, with the group taking a variety of tracks up to the ridge. We made the summit around 12:15.

There was only one fellow on the summit as we arrived, another group were fairly close after us.

After about half an hour of eating, chatting and especially admiring the views in all directions we headed down.

Roughly 6 km with 760 m ascent. 2:15 up, 30 min at the top, 2:00 down.

Many thanks to participants: David, Arnold, Yoko, Jane, Doug, David, Cathy, Krystyna, and Christine for joining me, Carl (C/S).
