I postponed this trip by two days because of more than 50cm of fresh snow from last weekend, and it worked out perfectly. A few deep patches remained, but most of the route was clear and the flowers were incredible - thousands of dots of white, yellow, pink, purple, and blue. Our group was strong and cheerfully reclimbed the high points on the ridge on the return journey instead of taking the boring 3-hour creek slog. At the south end of the ridge, we continued along a spur ridge to the SW and bushwhacked steeply down to meet the trail (doing this saves about 1.2 km compared to the trail). 23 km, somewhere over 1300m elevation gain, 8.25 hours.
