North Outlier of Mt.Glasgow 466270 Scramble on 23-May-2025

This was my third (and so far favourite) time up this outlier, so you'd think that by now I would unerringly find the toe of the ridge on the way up. Fortunately the 100m of mild bushwhacking required to get back on track was easy, and from that point on there is no chance of going astray.

The views were gorgeous with snow accenting the surrounding mountains, and both temperature and wind were pleasant during lunch. Three separate thunderstorms were to the north and we were watching their movements (and listening to thunder) carefully while we ate. After determining that we were in no imminent danger, we walked further to scope out the SC6 notch that connects with Garriochmill before turning back and descending the ridge with dramatic views of black clouds in front of us. A brief period of graupel was the only precipitation until a few minutes of light rain when we were back at the cars.
A bonus was seeing a couple of groups of wild horses by the road, including a very young foal. Overall, another memorable day with a great group! Thanks to Gary for a couple of the photos.
