The weather cooperated perfectly to make this a very pleasant Spring "walk in the woods".
Starting from Sibbald Lake, we followed a small dirt road for a few hundred metres, before it turned into a pleasant track which with some turns gradually gained Sibbald Ridge. The apex of this ridge was followed with some undulations in a NW direction to Grouse Ridge "summit" where we stopped for an early lunch. We even saw a couple of grouse and had some views of Lusk Ridge to the SW and other snow covered peaks to the north. We returned to the cars the same way for a total trip time of 3 1/2 hours , 8.3km and 430m elevation gain (my GPS). The sun was shining all day increasing the temperature from +10c at 10.00am to +17c at 1.30pm. Certainly no need for long johns, worn by one member, micro-spikes carried by all, and sturdy gaiters worn by me. The trail was generally dry with only a few patches of snow/ice.
