We started out in 10 degree beautiful sunshine weather. In 10 minutes our first stop was to delayer. Half way up Prairie Mountain we encountered mud and ice so on went the microspikes. A relaxed pace took us up to our rest area before we knew we would encounter the wind. A hurried pace across the top of Prairie Mountain got us quickly down into the trees again and a welcome respite from the wind. From there we relaxed our pace to the meadow. The log was waiting for us to sit on and enjoy the sunshine and our lunch. The forest on the way back was colored with beautiful tones of bright green moss. A very enjoyable day made special to the wonderful participants.
