Evan Thomas ice falls (Green Monster) Trail hike on 21-Mar-2025

Four out of the five of us had never done this hike before, and we unanimously agreed that it has huge reward for little effort. Between the 8? (we lost count) stunning frozen waterfalls, nice walk along the creek, interesting chained route along the cliffs, and lunchtime entertainment provided by ice climbers, it was obvious why it's so popular.

We had sun on the way in, but flurries on the walk back steadily developed into several cm of heavy snow that coated the cars faster than a snow brush could deal with! Fortunately the driving in blizzard conditions only lasted a few minutes as the storm moved south. Thanks to everyone for coming and for taking lots of excellent photos.
