Road Bike: Sheep winter gate to Bluerock Road bike on 8-Mar-2025

What a difference 5 days can make! From a completely dry road surface, to one with 3 cm of snow and ice. After discussing of our options, three of our group decide to do a ride near Chestermere, while the remaining 9 decided to drive back to Turner Valley and ride the Sheep River road to the Kananaskis Park boundary. The section of road had no snow or icy sections, but we did have to contend with a rather brisk westerly headwind. After a very leisurely lunch in the sun at the park entrance, we headed back to Turner Valley as if jet propelled with the wind at our backs. Total distanced travelled was 31 km with a maximum speed of 49 kph.

Thanks to Garry, Joe, Kim, Bill, Barbara, Margo, Teresa, Gordon, Jenny, Lenard, George for coming out to join me, John
