Foran Grade Ridge and Windy Point Ridge Off-Trail hike on 2-Mar-2025
The weather forecast was too splendid to want to spend the day in the city, and indeed it felt like May rather than March. We walked the length of Foran Grade and then took a small trail north until reaching an open slope and climbing steeply west to meet the trail on the ridgetop. Then, we walked south and had lunch at the end of Windy Point Ridge before retracing our steps slightly to descend off-trail to meet the road and Sheep trail... with another half-hour break in the sun on the way. Wildlife included a herd of elk, 5 deer on the trail, a woodpecker, and the first tick of spring. Thanks to everyone for a great day out and welcome to Torgny on his first trip with the Ramblers!
