Jumpingpound loop Trail hike on 27-Feb-2025

It was a warm, sunny and windy day in the foothills. We enjoyed this fairly short hike which provides a mixture of terrain: some ridge, some forest, some parts along the frozen creek. There were nice views of Moose Mountain and Cox Hill from the higher trail. We started without icers, but some of us put them on about 40 minutes into the hike as there were occasional icy stretches, which became more prevalent on the lower portion of the trail. We were down to our base layers quite quickly, and left our jackets off most of the hike. The trail alternated between bare and dry ground, mud and snow/ice. After lunch, the wind was stronger; the cracking of trees near the trail encouraged us to move a bit faster to get back to our cars.
