Prairie View / Barrier lookout / Jewell Pass loop Trail hike on 13-Ja

The day started with a slight mix-up, as my order for calm, sunny weather had not arrived on time as we departed for a windy trek across the reservoir edge until reaching the shelter of the trees. Fortunately, whatever error caused the delay was remedied by lunch and the walk from there was thoroughly enjoyable, not just because of the improved weather, but also the engaging and entertaining conversations along the way. Thanks to Sim, Jim, Damian, Jack, Sonja and Jane for joining me. It was great to see you all and catch up!

Spikes were not needed on the ascent, but a few folks donned them for the first part of the descent from the fire lookout. Stats recorded 16.5 km, 740 m, 5 hours.
