Exshaw Ridge 275632 Off-Trail hike on 7-Nov-2024

This hike was new to all of us, and it was a worthwhile shoulder season trip made a bit more challenging by the snow. The trip starts with a walk through Exshaw (because you need to park on the far side of the hamlet), and then follows good (but steep) trails to gain the ridge. After that (other than a couple of sections through forest), you stay close to the rocky backbone of the ridge which was engaging hiking... although a bit spicy when traversing the knife edge of slabs with snow underfoot and winds threatening to blow you off! We didn't go quite all the way to the end due to the short days this time of year, but thoroughly enjoyed our 14.5 km/850m journey.
