Northwest Outlier of Storm Mountain Off-Trail hike on 15-Aug-2024

A bit cloudy and cool to start the hike but surprisingly very little smoke. We made good time to the base of the headwall and proceeded to hike up in a tight group eliminating the risk of dislodged rocks. From the col it's another 40 minutes to the top of the oulier where we had our lunch. A short walk along the ridge takes to another viewpoint where you can look straight down to Burns lake. As the sky was filling up with black clouds we decided to leave and forego the loop around the cirque. We made to the cars as the firsts drops of rain started to fall.
