It was cold enough at the parking lo that people were pulling out down jackets, extra sweaters, and even heavy gloves. However, all of that changed when we arrived at the trailhead under mostly sunny skies.
The parking lot was full, presumably with people going climbing, with even some tents pitched in the grass. After the 30 minute rather boring walk along the fence surrounding the landfill, we got started on the loop around Yamnuska flats. The trail was in good condition, with an abundance of flowers to be seen, and we had no problem reaching the lunch spot under Yamnuska by noon.
Continuing the loop, we took a brief diversion down to see Crescent Lake, which unlike last year, had lots of water. For a change, we also encountered about half a dozen other parties of hikers doing various portions of the many trails present. The pleasant walk came to an end when we once gain reached the fence around the landfill for the 2 kilometer walk back to the parking lot.
Thanks to Christine, Tom ,Linda, and Robert for joining me. Brian C/S/P
