Seven of us enjoyed a relaxed hike on the High Noon Hills. Trail conditions were great - mostly dry and snow-free, except for a few short patches of soft snow on the return nearing the final meadow.

Some spring flowers were seen along the trail - lots of Prairie Crocus, some Cinquefoil, a large patch of Three-Flowered Avens, and Buffalo Bean.

We went up the various bumps of the hills to the boundary fence and our high point, where we had a snack break enjoying the views.

Then it was downhill all the way to the Sheep River. I wasn't expecting to go right down to the river, as the last part of the trail can be very slippery this time of year, but it was bare and dry so we all went down and enjoyed an early lunch beside the river, entertained by some Dippers.

Wildlife sightings by various members of our group on the hike: deer, a bear running downhill towards the river (just after we were down thereā€¦) and a tick (maybe more will be found now we are home).

Thanks to a friendly group who joined me on this lovely day in the foothills: David,Susan,Peter,Nancy,Bill,Keith from coordinator Barb.
