Paskapoo Slopes Trail hike on 4-Dec-2023

A gathering of old timers showed up for this urban walk. In fact, no introductions were necessary because the participants had been hiking together many times over the years. Although the weather was very good for early December, the trails were mostly snow and ice covered as is befitting for the time of year. Our first stop was a visit to the giant Stupa, built in 2009 to commemorate the visit of the Dalai Lama. Some of the more seasoned travellers in the group followed the protocol of walking around it in a clockwise direction. hopefully achieving inner peace as they did so. Any inner peace that was obtained was quickly lost as the coordinator turned one junction too soon , resulting in an “urban bushwhack” to get back on to the main trail.

We had a leisurely lunch at the big rock before looping northwards, skirting the condo construction area, on the way back to the trailhead.
We arrived back at the cars about 2 PM.
Thanks to Norman, Philip, Christine, Tom, Ivan, Carl, and Yoko for joining me. Brian C/S/P
