Rummel ridge (Via Rummel lake) Off-Trail hike on 7-Sep-2023

Starting at the civilized hour of 10 am in cool conditions we made good time to the lake where we had our first break. To gain the ridge above us first we followed an open strip of meadow followed by a moderate bushwhack eventually reaching the open avalanche gully below the col between the high point of Rummel ridge and the west ridge of the Tower. From the col it's only a short walk to the summit. Even if the weather didn't fully cooperated we still enjoyed a long lunch break. For such a modest summit views were quite extensive. On return we made a beeline to intersect the trail a few hundred meters from the lake .Back at the cars at 4 pm.
