We started from the parking lot with somewhat smokey skies but bouyant spirits. After making our way along the flats by the river the coordinator found the easy end of the ridge by a bubbling moss edged creek. Unfortunately after that the coordinator missed an easy, flat bushwack over to the main trail and exposed the group to a still relatively easy uphill bushwack to gain the main trail on the ridge.
The rest of the trip to the summit was along the well used trail up the north edge of the ridge then up many false summits to the top. While waiting for the last of the group to reach the lunch spot Gary surprised those already there by stating that he was "taking his banana out of his shorts". The ladies noted that it was soft and mushy.
After a relaxed lunch and taking in the somewhat smokey views we headed down. The coordinator did find the easy, flat bushwack through moss covered ground and open trees leading to the easy end of the ridge and bubbling creek where we dipped our hats and shirts in cold mountain water.
The trip stats were 13.5 km in length, 914 m high, and 6:15 hours . My thanks to the Participants: Gary, Susan, Sonja, Ed, John, Ingrid, Annie for joining me and indulging me in my attempt to find the easy access to the ridge.
