Late fall or winter hiking can and sometimes is a little more of a challenge in our climate, but none the less it builds strength of character and grit. This is what was presented to us, on this wonderful day. Once geared up, we set off, spikes on, an accent on a well packed trail. Soon shedding layers at a reasonable good pace it was about the halfway point before the first snowflakes began to fall, softly from the skies, silence amougst the timber. The trail was leading onward, and this is the way footsteps our went. Upon the accompishment of reaching our destination, a short break to add clothing back, with the snow coming at a good pace now, light breeze we decided to move down a little for lunch.
Off again downward became a very beautiful, tranquil place. Some might think of this as enlightenment, certainly a pleasentness from the day to day burdens that surround us.
With a peaceful heart and mind our time together here was very much enjoyable, a sense of contentment, satisfaction. As the legend is told maybe this is the way Alexander 1st was feeling as here rode on his white stallion into Tomsk, Russia.
