Chester Lake & Elephant Rocks Trail hike on 27-Sep-2022

It was a treat to be able to look for fall colors while at the same time enjoying summer weather. The trail was not particularly busy (for Chester Lake), but it wasn’t until we passed Elephant Rocks that we got the trail to ourselves.

The lunch spot on the ridge just before the first lake, had lots of yellow larch trees, and so we settled in for a leisurely lunch (and naps).

On the way back, there was a black bear grazing just off the trail near the lake, oblivious to all the people standing 100 feet away snapping pictures.
Thanks to Carmie, Sid, and Dianna for joining me on this spectacular larch hike. Brian C/S/P
