Thankfully, the forecast 20+ temperatures were incorrect and we started our trip with a light rain shower. The kilometer through the woods to Porcupine Creek was a warm-up. We followed Porcupine Creek to a fork and crossed makeshift log bridges and rock hopped and scrambled along a tricky little bit.

In the middle of the fork, we began heading straight up, then through the forest over a hump, up to a stretch of grass and up a pretty intense climb to the south end of the rocky ridge where the more challenging climb began. This is marked by a memorial to a golfer, who must also have been a hiker. Some suggested that this part of the trail might just be classified as a Scramble 5, but we all navigated it nicely and continued along the rocky ridge.

At the south end of the ridge, we dropped down into a col and up into the trees to our final destination.
Beyond the high point, it becomes a true scramble.
The trip offers a lot of variety, great views and some fun challenges.
