Boundary Ridge via Snagmore Trail Trail hike on 8-Apr-2022

Wow! For the very first 20 degree day of the year, (the mercury topped out at 19 degrees at the Bragg Creek station) we basked in the sun in the foothills, taking lunch stops at the summit of Snagmore hill and on Boundary Ridge. The wind was fierce but it was so warm that it was not a problem. There is still a lot of ice on the Elbow ski trail and in a few spots on Snagmore, and spikes were needed on the outgoing walk, but coming back in the warmth of the afternoon the ice had softened considerably and most of us managed to walk over the icy sections without spikes.

We saw 3 deer, and the grass is starting to come up in places. Consulting our collection of GPS devices and services, we concluded that we covered 13 km with 410 metres of elevation gain.
