Loder Peak via Door Jamb, Jura Cr return Scramble on 21-Aug-2021

We had a fine trip, sunny to start, overcast most of the day, but no rain.
We set out from the new Jura Creek parking lot (complete with washrooms) around 10. As we climbed up the ridge we took a variety of routes. As coordinator I usually found myself between the faster group of three and the somewhat slower group but within sight and easy calling distance of both. It wasn't too long before we got to the crux of the climb.

That overcome it's an easy walk to the summit of Door Jamb where we stopped to sign the new (ubiquitous) pink register.

And have a snack and estimate the time to the summit of Loder.

That time turned out to be about 25 minutes. We had lunch around 12:30.

Several of us had done the descent down the far side to Jura Creek, but not for many years.

This turned out to be long but not terribly difficult. It is a bit of a walk back on the cobbles of Jura Creek and occasionally on trail on the banks. But that all turned out to be well worth it when we got to the slot canyon of Jura Creek.

It was quite a delight, I'm sorry not to have better photos.
We were back at the cars before 3:30. Around 8 km with 800 m of ascent.
Many thanks to participants: David,Alda,Jeannine,Jeannette,Inge, and Deb (photos) for joining me, Carl (C/S).
