A big wind recently made most of the autumn leaves go "poof" but there were still some pockets to provide photo ops.
We hiked up the ridge line, arriving to a chilly wind which kept changing directions, from north to west to east.
We had lunch on the summit but could not escape the cold wind, so quickly finished and dropped back to the treeline, where the sun came out and the wind dropped.
Just about 100m west of the junction with Prairie Link trail we came across a half eaten carcase of a buck deer, which was now a meal for a murder of crows. We speculated that the murderer of the deer may have been a cougar.
The crows had eaten a lot in the time we were on the ridge.
Like I have found for every trail in the Kananaskis Country this year, this trail has suffered from erosion. On soft sand deep gullies have appeared, and on rockier ground melting snows and rains have carried away loose sand and silt, leaving an ever growing mass of slabs and boulders on the trail.
