Little Arethusa
We enjoyed quite a variety of landscapes over a relatively short distance in perfect weather conditions – a cloudless sky and a light breeze.
From the parking spot we headed up the well established trail to the meadows below an outlier of K country’s Storm Mountain.
We then contoured around to the start of the climb of a total of 600m up to the summit. Some followed a fairly well-established track on climber’s left while others (including your scribe) pursued a steeper, rubbly slope more to the right.
The former was the faster, easier and more sensible route! In any case we all reached the peak within two hours.
After a long rest we headed down (on the easy route) to the meadows where we enjoyed our lunch before heading around the open valley where we had a final stop before heading down to the creek and our up track.
For peak spotters, see Carl’s photos below.
Thanks to all for their company on a relaxing day in the mountains.
