King Creek Ridge 338222 Trail hike on 15-Jun-2019
There were a few cars at King Creek when we arrived but it seemed to fill up within five minutes with other hikers and some cyclists. We sallied forth and soon were doing the steep ascent up to the ridge, with the views getting progressively better as height was gained. After an hour we had climber 515 metres and attained the ridge for a well earned rest. Flowers had been good to view and a tiny unusual draba was seen at the rest stop. We continued up the ridge:

On King Creek Ridge , making note of darkening clouds in the surrounding sky, but other than a few drops the precipitation missed us:

A rain squall missing us to the south Lunch at the peak was a little cooler with the sun hiding behind the clouds, although it was pleasant enough to linger and admire the scenery:

Other hikers on the subpeak to the south A large group of bighorns was spotted far below on one of the grassy ridges to the east. The descent was uneventful, although a short rainshower made parts of the steep trail a bit greasy and not everyone stayed upright to the bottom, with a couple of fancy pirouettes performed in slippery spots. By the return to the parking lot the sun was back and it was pleasantly warm.
Thanks for joining me, Ron C/S/P , go to participants Bill, Nancy, Aldis, Cornelis, Anne, Evan, Ingrid, Dana, Deborah and new member Jonathan (welcome!).
