Eleven of us really enoyed skiing and staying at Discovery Hut for a full week. The hut was well equipped and heated efficiently by propane. allthough John saw an opportunity to help support the ceiling. Most of the time the weather was overcast, but we managed two days of sun. The first day we toured from the hut up to Table Mountain which was icy and wind affected. But the trees, coated in frost were quite beuatiful.
. In the following days the group split into two groups and skied Discovery Hill
and Dinner Roll
. There was a good opportunity for a variety of skiing from steep to gentle.
. Generally, there were early morning starts
.
Food played an important part of the trip and we all certainly ate well.
. Even the birds feasted.
.
Finally, we had to say goodbye for another year.
We generally skied between 10 -14 km a day with an elevation gain of between 700 -800 metres.
Thanks to John and David for photos. Thanks to all the group for a really lovely trip: and welcome to new members Ivan, Margot, Bob; plus regulars Kim, David, Nancy, Arnold and Terry
