Autumn flaunted its vibrant colors and snow covered peaks enhanced the views. Not only that, we were treated to a blue sky coupled with pleasant temperatures. Hats off to nature for cooperating. We left the North Interlakes Day Use area around 9 a.m. Online research indicates this trip is straightforward. Hike the Three Isle Lake Trail to a bridge at Invincible Creek. Once over the bridge turn right onto a trail that parallels the creek, this turns into an old logging road. There is deadfall through this section but it’s nothing like bushwhacking through Chickadee Valley in the summer. Anyhow, we turned right at a large cairn and grunted up a steep trail.

 A grassy slope leading up to the ridge was littered with deadfall which was easy enough to walk over.

 Once higher up we were treated to a stunning view of Upper Kananaskis Lake and higher peaks to the west.

Cresting the ridge we entered the land of golden larches, and snow. From here we could see Mt Nomad but to get there required elevation loss.

Some of us put on spikes for the descent and traverse over to the foot of our peak. It was early afternoon when we reached the summit where we had lunch and savored the views.

 We decided to return the same way rather than drop down to Invincible Lake. Thank you Katrin, Lenard, Teresa, Kevin, Jeannette and Ricardo for great company. Also, kudos to Kevin for capturing all the great images. Yours truly, Christine c/s.
