We then headed down to Zigadenus Lake enjoying its brilliant colours.
We left the trail and went down for our lunch stop near the south end of the lake in sun, no wind and amongst a fine display to larches.
After a leisurely lunch and some wandering through the larches to take photos we headed to the north end of Zigadenus to look down to Myosotis Lake.
We were a little off-trail at this point, but found an easy way down the short headwall rejoining the trail for the walk along the south side of Myosotis Lake. The "chimney" to descend to the valley floor at the east end of Myosotis was enjoyable as ususal. We then headed off-trail through open larches, up a small stream bed and then through open areas of small larches up to Deception Pass.
We met a number of groups as we went down from Deception, along Ptarmigan Lake to Boulder Pass and then to Halfway Hut, Temple Lodge and finally to the parking lot. Two groups we met near Halfway Hut mentioned they had seen a mother grizzly with 2 cubs near Hidden Lake.
