We headed up the never ending talus slope and took a snack break below the cliff bands.
The route through ther cliffbands is fairly obvious, as a trail veers right up to a notch, with a large cairn above it. After negotiating the easy cliff bands we stopped to regroup and enjoy the great scenery.
From the notch/cairn, traverse right across a scree/slab slope to the next rib. The rest of the route involves trudging up a long moderate talus slope to the summit ridge.
A short traverse of the ridge brought us to the summit.
The sunshine and mild breeze made our long lunch break on the summit very pleasant. The 360 degree views were spectacular.
We retraced our route back down the ridge and cliff bands and in two hours we were back down in the meadow in upper Spencer Creek. The group was back at the vehicles at 4:45 PM
Thanks to Ulrike, Bill, Susan, Arnold, Clifton and Ricardo for their great company and for joining me Kevin (S/C) on a great day in the mountains.
